Justin Whitener

MINISTRY EXPERIENCE: Justin joined the staff at Pearl in July 2026, having joined the church with his family in 2024. During his time at Pearl he's played guitar in the worship band while also overseeing several upgrades to audio and video capabilities including overseeing the build out of the audio and video systems in the new worship center while managing the AV and livestream cabilities during each service. Prior to joining Pearl, Justin was the worship leader and head of AV at First Baptist Church in Stanley where he also spent 20+ years running audio and video for childrens programs, local school choirs, seasonal productions, orchestras, and touring bands, while also integrating and installing new the audio and video systems across several buildings.

Justin has a degree in Finance from Florida State University as well as a degree in Psychology from Campbell University.  He's currently the Head of Pricing Strategy at First Horizon Bank.

FAMILY: Justin married his amazing wife Liz in March 2008. They have 2 awesome kids - Jack and Amelia, born in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

FAVORITES: Justin loves Jesus, his family, music, and sports. He's a huge follower of Chelsea FC - come on you Blues - playing guitar, going to Christian metal concerts, and game nights with family and friends.
